Sportfields were delighted when Midas Construction announced that we were the appointed contractor for the new sport pitch facilities to be built at Loxton Campus. It is always within our best interests to deliver top-class facilities for local schools and colleges with the aim to increase participation and maximise performance levels.

The artificial works commenced in January 2019 and with the construction programme scheduled for an 8-10 week build, this led seamlessly into the spring season to allow our team to undertake the natural works for the new football pitch.

Cut & Fill formation

Geotextile membrane, Type 1X base aggregate, Concrete Kerb installation, Land Drainage works

Macadam based storage area, spectator viewing area, 1.2m high spectator fence with access gates

In-situ SBR rubber shock pad

Desso iQ3 40mm pile height system with full size and cross-court line markings

4.5m high twin wire fencing installed to perimeter of pitch, including storage area and recesses, with associated gates

8 Mast floodlighting system to achieve average 300 LUX

Natural Football Pitch

Pitch Size: 106m x 70m (Including 3m run offs)

Scope of works;

Cut down existing vegetation

Selective herbicide to kill all broad leaf weeds

Scarifying to remove thatch

Application of rootzone in the form of 60/40 sand to soil mix

Pre-seeding fertiliser

Overseeding using approved seed mix

All works were carried out and scheduled to complete satisfaction on time for opening.
