HAMPTON GARDENS SECONDARY SCHOOL, PETERBOROUGH

Sportfields were pleased to be awarded this very prestigious contract under competitive tendering, for Carillion. This project was a challenging task synchronising operations with other contractors building the school. 

The natural sports pitches had to be established, and ready for use at the same time as the completion and handover of the synthetic and MUGA areas. 

The scope of works included bulk earth excavations and grading, lime stabilisation to the sub-base of all areas. 6,000 cubic meters of top soil was locally sourced, power screened and ameliorated. Then laser graded to Sport England tolerance. 

This included: x2 full size football pitches, x1 full size rugby pitch, x1 9x9 junior pitch, training grids and 400m running track. 

The artificial sports surfaces consisted of: x1 full sized 3G sand filled synthetic surface to FIFA quality. x1 MUGA including x3 netball x4 tennis and x2 basketball training courts on a porous macadam base. x2 40m long jumps and landing pits. 

All works were carried out and scheduled to complete satisfaction on time for opening.
