MUNDY PLAYING FIELDS - THORNBURY TOWN COUNCIL

This 6.5 acre site was originally a Christmas tree plantation which has now been transformed into x2 full size, fully drained natural turf football pitches. This project was an exciting challenge dealing with the mass extent of tree roots within the soils. Sportfields used their own power screen soil grader and 20 tonne excavator to clean the root zone prior to seeding. Both pitches had primary land drainage installed at 3m centres and sand and gypsum amelioration enhancing top soils fertility and drainage. This project was completed on time and within tight budget.
